A scheduled programme that keeps the coating intact, so your cladding never reaches the point of needing a full restoration.
Ask about a maintenance planEvery coating on cedar cladding has a working life. Maintained on schedule, the timber underneath is never exposed, the finish stays uniform, and each visit is a straightforward maintenance coat. Left until the coating visibly fails, the job changes entirely — the boards have to be stripped, greyed timber has to be brought back, and you are paying for a restoration instead of a top-up.
Cedar cladding maintenance Auckland property owners can set and forget is what we build here. We assess the cladding, work out how long your system will realistically hold given the elevation and exposure, then schedule the next visit before that point rather than after it.
Plans are tailored, not packaged. What follows is what most properties end up with.
We hold the interval for your property and contact you when it comes due, so the cladding is never quietly running past its window.
Each visit starts with a soft wash to clear mould, salt and airborne dirt. A maintenance coat over a dirty surface will not bond and will not last.
The same system and colourtone as the last application, so the finish stays consistent across every elevation rather than patching in over time.
A record of what we found and what to watch — useful for your own planning, and essential if the property is managed or later sold.
There is no single answer, which is why we assess rather than quote a blanket interval. Two identical houses two streets apart can sit years apart on their maintenance cycle.
The things that move the number are the coating system used, how much direct sun each elevation takes, distance from the coast, whether the walls dry out or hold moisture in shade, and the tone of the finish. Dark colours on a north or west wall work the hardest.
The difference between the two is entirely down to timing.
| Maintenance coat | Full restoration | |
|---|---|---|
| Coating state | Still intact, starting to thin | Broken down, timber exposed |
| Preparation | Soft wash only | Wash, strip, extensive prep |
| Timber condition | Protected throughout | Greying, mould, possible damage |
| Time on site | Short | Substantially longer |
| Relative cost | Lower, and predictable | Considerably higher |
If your cladding has already passed the maintenance window, that is not a problem — it just means the first visit is a restoration. Once the boards are back to a sound finish, the property goes onto a normal maintenance cycle from there.
We travel from Waipu to Hamilton and hold maintenance schedules for homes, architectural builds and multi-unit complexes across the region.
Single-owner properties on a set cycle, with the whole exterior kept to one consistent finish rather than being tackled wall by wall.
Where the cladding is a design feature, the maintenance standard has to match. We work to the specified system and protect the detailing around it.
Staged programmes across multiple buildings, with scheduling and documentation suited to body corporate reporting.
A free on-site assessment tells you where your coating actually sits and when it next needs attention. No obligation to take a plan.
